I am a web developer with three years of experience building production applications with Ruby on Rails. Although most of my experience has been working in the back-end, I enjoy front-end work as well. Computers have always been a major part of my life, from my family’s first Apple IIe to building my own computers and provisioning Linux based servers.
Over the past three years I have worked on a number of Rails applications, both professional and side projects. I'm familiar with API development, Heroku, Ember.js, TDD, RabbitMQ, continuous integration, web scraping, tools for authentication, WordPress, front end frameworks like Bootstrap, and version control.
Investing in myself is a high priority for me. I continuously self-assess areas I can improve my knowledge and programming skills. I also regularly ask my managers for input on how I can improve as a developer, and then create and implement strategies to address these areas.
I'm collaborative by nature, so I thrive in a team environment. Being part of a close-knit team is important to me, so I'm not interested in drama, gossip, or backbiting. Although collaborating with others is my preferred mode of work, I'm also very capable of being self-directed and working independently.
